Now let me just begin by saying St. Patrick's Day is MY day. With a name like Shannon Patricia O'Leary, it's hard not to be crazy about a holiday dedicated to being Irish
(or wishing you were).
And, like any other holiday, it's the perfect excuse to go all out with your makeup! I love green eyeshadow, so I'm not one to wait until March 17th to whip it out - I'll rock it all year round. But, of course, it's especially fun to go a little overboard and get festive with the greens today.
Check out the tutorials I think are perfect for this perfect holiday.

M
y Favo rite TutorialsI've been watching Steph (SMLx0) for years now and her tutorials just keep getting better and better! I didn't think that was even possible, considering her videos have always been incredible. But it is, apparently. And she didn't disappoint with her St. Patty's Day tutorial either.
Obviously.
This is a seriously green look - it's SO festive.
She definitely went all out!
But is there really any other way to do it?!
She started out with a super intense green cream product which made the look strong and vibrant from the get-go. She then set it with a similarly-intense green shadow from Wet N Wild that matched the emerald Jordana pencil perfectly! Plus, we all know how pigmented WNW shadows are, so layering that color all over the lid made the green pop even more.
But the cherry on top of this look was the NYX Jade Pearl pigment. Pigments are just the most gorgeous things, aren't they?? This one is especially beautiful and adds just the right amount of brightness and sparkle. I love that she focused it just on the inner third of the eyelid and the tear-duct area. It made her gorgeous eyes stand out even more!
This video inspired the kind of look I went for today. Unfortunately, I don't own an emerald pigment like the one Steph used, but I definitely loaded up the green all over my lid. It doesn't look anywhere near as good as this. But hey, I tried.
And I filmed it, too!
So keep an eye out for the video going up on my channel soon!

The first thing I must mention that I love about this video is that Jenna (beautytwins124) included her foundation routine! For some reason, I really enjoy tutorials that show how the look was created from start to finishing, including faceand eye makeup. So kudos to Jenna for for the full-face tutorial. Love it.
This look is much more subdued than the look Steph went for. But it's nonetheless beautiful.
It's perfect for ladies wanting to incorporate a little bit of green into their look without slapping it all over the lid. I personally love adding a pop of color under the eye with neutral colors on the lid! This look is definitely something I would wear pretty much any time. Today, I used a similar green pencil as Jenna to coat my waterline. It added just the right amount of green to the bottom of my eye and balanced out the look.
I also think setting the liner with that green Tarte shadow added the perfect final touch. This look is just gorgeous - natural yet festive. Like it said, love it. Love it, love it, love it.

Here's my St. Patty's Day look! My eyes are hazel and I think shadow really brings out the hints of green in them :)
How are you doing your makeup today??
